Hey, that comment wasn't from a "guest" it was from me! But I was using a different browser... so i guess i wasn't recognized. - Jeffrey Oooooh, that's a challenge! But it also open the gates to a much more elaborate problem, because now we would have to do our top 5 albums from 1966, from 1967, from 1968, 1969, 1981, 1974, etc etc etc!!! But if we're sticking with 1967... Donovan - For Little Ones (one of my all-time favorite albums regardless of year!) Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn Jefferson Airplane - After Bathing at Baxter's Country Joe & The Fish - Electric Music for the Mind & Body Beach Boys - Smiley Smile (to me this is much better than the "Smile" version) okay, I guess I'm an idiot if I don't include Velvet Underground & Nico... Oh geez, there's also Virgin Fugs for Adult Minds Only! But that was recorded back in 1965 so it shouldn't really count as a 1967 album. (But wait, the Velvets album was recorded a whole year before released also... So should that count for a 1966 album instead? But then it gets more ridiculous... trying to only count the recording date... too much trouble!)
Post subject: Top five albums from 1967
It's really specific, but it was such a great year for music. I just like to imagine going to a record shop every month or so and discover pink floyd, or buy the new Love LP, it might have been something, even if people had no idea at the time i guess.
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
Love - Forever Changes
PinkFloyd - The piper at the gate of dawn
The Rolling Stones - Between the buttons
The Kinks - Something else by The Kinks
